Meet The Owner
I’m Melissa — the owner, creator, and probably the person covered in paint, glitter, or wood dust behind Crown and Crook, LLC.
I’m a South Side San Antonio girl, Navy veteran, former aircraft electrician, and lifelong creative who discovered that making things with your hands can be just as rewarding as fixing them.
After spending more than 20 years working on aircraft electrical and navigation systems, I decided to build something a little different — a space where people could slow down, laugh with friends, try something new, and leave with a creation they actually feel proud of.
What started with one laser machine and a creative side hobby quickly turned into Crown and Crook — a colorful creative studio built around community, connection, and hands-on experiences. Today, we host DIY workshops, paint parties, hat burning classes, resin art workshops, private events, and custom laser-crafted pieces designed to bring people together.
One of my favorite things about this studio is watching someone walk in saying, “I’m not creative,” and then leave holding something they can’t stop smiling about.
Around here, perfection isn’t the goal. We’re more about good music, paint on the tables, creative freedom, and making memories along the way.
